Norman Hansen Meyer

Norman Hansen Meyer advises clients in the shipping and offshore industries and provides assistance in contract negotiations and with dispute resolution both in Norway and internationally. Norman has extensive experience in preparing and negotiating a variety of charter contracts and management agreements used in the oil & gas and renewable industries including contracts relating to offshore support, seismic, subsea construction & ROV, pipelay, rigs and FPSOs. In addition he advices on various types of engineering, procurement, construction and installation contracts and he has inter alia assisted leading operators of FPSO's in relation to construction and conversion of new units. Prior to joining Selmer Norman worked several years for a mutual defence club both in Oslo and Singapore, gaining considerable experience in contractual and commerical aspects in relation to offshore shipping and construction. Norman has extensive experience with dispute resolution, both in Norway and internationally, and has managed several cases in arbitration in Norway (ad hoc and NOMA), London (LMAA) and Singapore (SIAC and SCMA). He regularly assists clients in pursuing claims worldwide and has in-depth knowledge of ship arrests. Furthermore he advises on matters concerning marine insurance and cargo claims.
